Waterloo 3, RMC 1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23)
The Warriors won their third straight match defeating the RMC Paladins 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in Kingston. The win improves Waterloo's record to 6-8 placing them in the sixth and final playoff spot tied with Windsor with 12 points.
Waterloo displayed a well balanced attack on Sunday with outside hitter James Evans (Rockwood/Warriors) leading the way with 13 kills, 6 digs and 3 blocks. Second year Aleks Poldma (Toronto/Warriors) contributed 11 kills, 2 service aces and 6 digs while Corey Yednoroz (Windsor/Warriors) had 10 kills on the afternoon.
Ryan Hoekstra (Cobourg, Ont.) and Sean Vanthournot (Sakville, N.B.) provided the one-two punch for RMC killing the ball 12 and 10 times respectively while adding a combined six blocks.
The Warriors continue their push for the playoffs as they host the 3-9 Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night at the PAC.
