Coming off a variety of different training preparations through the holiday break the expectations for the meet were mixed and in the end the results were positive. Guelph, Trent, York, Brock and a select team of high school swimmers from Huronia provided the opposition through the meet.
Event winners on the day were led by
Andrew Lee (Markham/) with a 4:42 400 IM.
Graeme Kemp (Waterloo/) continued his strong season with a win in the 100 back.
Second place finishers included
Bronwyn Kemp (Waterloo/) in the 200 IM,
Evan Dzik (Winnipeg/) and
Meaghen Vydelingum (Toronto/) in the 100 fly,
Brian Dohler (Smithers/) (who had a great day) in the 50 back and 400 free and Linz Buckingham in the 100 free.
Team captain
Marlee Palmer (Kingston/) commented after a lifetime best in the 100 free: "This is the best women's team I have been on since I came to Waterloo. I am really excited to see where we finish at the OUA champs.”
