HAMILTON, Ont. - For the tenth year in a row, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) will recognize the top female scholar-athletes from across the province at a luncheon on Tuesday, May 7 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Taboo Resort in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

The event honours female student-athletes who have excelled in their chosen sports and fields of study. This year's guest speaker will be Diana Matheson.

Matheson is a midfielder on Canada's National Women's soccer team hailing from Oakville, Ontario.  She has represented Canada at the international level since 2003, and has earned 150 caps for her country, making her the second most capped player in Canadian soccer history.

Diana attended Princeton University and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Economics.  During her time at Princeton she earned academic All-American honours, was named Ivy League player of the year in 2007, and Princeton's Female Athlete of the Year in 2008.  After graduating, Diana played several years in Norway's Topserrien Women's professional league, and currently plays for the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League in the United States. She is best known for scoring the winning goal in the 92nd minute of the Bronze-medal game against France at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Join OUA as Diana inspires a unique group of accomplished young women to continue to pursue excellence in sport and in life. Tickets are $55 each or $400 for a table of eight. To purchase tickets please contact Samantha Magalas at samantha.magalas@oua.ca.

OUA recognizes the following sponsors for their support of this event; belairdirect, Centaur Products, Pioneer Energy, Wilson Sports Equipment of Canada and Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS).
