Warriors score three unanswered to top Rams

Kaitlyn McDonell opened the scoring for the Warriors and added an assist in the win
The Waterloo women's hockey team scored three unanswered goals en route to a crucial 3-2 win over the Ryerson Rams on Saturday afternoon at the CIF arena.

The Rams opened up a 2-0 lead within the opening 10 minutes of the game but Waterloo fought their way back into the game to take it and even their record at .500 (7-7-4).  Their 18 points has them sitting comfortably in eighth spot just three points behind UOIT and Windsor.

Marissa Redmond (Ajax/) and Kaitlyn McDonell (Kincardine/) each had two points while Rachel Marriott (Waterloo/) tallied the game winning goal at 9:47 of the third to lift Waterloo to the victory.

Waterloo netminder Rebecca Bouwhuis (Orillia/) stopped 16 of 18 shots for the win while Gryphon keeper Alex Armstrong allowed three goals on 25 shots.

The Warriors will hit the ice tomorrow afternoon for another big tilt as the Toronto Varsity Blues visit the CIF arena at 2:30pm.  The game can be seen live on Warriors TV.
