Fore Straight: Warriors, Adams repeat at Guelph Invitational

The Waterloo men's golf team cannot be stopped after yet another team gold medal, their fourth straight, this time at the Guelph Invitational played at the Cutten Fields Golf Club.  The Warriors successfully defended their title from a year ago.

On top of their staggering streak, the Warriors had their fourth individual to capture gold with Jake Adams (London) taking the spotlight this time, firing a 1-under, 69 to share the top spot with Austin Ryan of Laurier.  Adams successfully defended his title after capturing the Guelph Invitational last season with an identical score of 69.

The Warriors have now medaled in all seven events played in this year which includes four gold, two silver and one bronze.

The Warriors had other strong rounds by David French (Camlachie) and David Bartlett, who both shot 1-over 71's while Dan Wilson fired a 73 and Dylan Cave (Kitchener) a 74.

Waterloo (team total of 284) beat out the host Guelph Gryphons (293) by nine strokes.  Western and Laurier tied for the bronze medal position with scores of 294.

The Warriors will have one more tournament on Tuesday, October 13 before their focus turns to the OUA Championships in Oshawa one week later.
